Rainy Season In Indonesia: Watch Out Your Moisture Content

Usually rainy season in Indonesia is a peak season for Indonesian furniture manufacturer. More orders and sometimes (I hope not) means more problem. The biggest problem is caused by the increase of the moisture content (MC) due to the humidity caused by rain.

Materials which already kiln-dried need extra attentions since the MC can change tremendously. Another problem is if the material already assembled as furniture. You can not (but some people do this) kiln-dry a furniture unless you want to deal with problems may occurred. Finishing process will be affected also because some finishing methods need sunlight that is rarely during rainy season. The production processes need longer time.

The next question is “How do you deal with it?”
My advices are to always control the MC and ask buyers to give a longer production time.
